All peoples' bodies are not created the same...
Take a look around, do you see anyone who looks or acts the same as you? Just as our features and personalities are different, so are the differences in how our bodies work. Your health is a collective result of how many organs and glands work in response to your habits and lifestyle. (Back to Top)
Your health condition has developed in a way that is unique to you and your life history...
We are all born with hereditary strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes these are strong enough to determine our health- good or poor. The way we live, eat, work, relate and care for ourselves is also a major part of our health. Understanding the way your health came to its present state is revealed in your history... (Back to Top)
Treatment for your condition is unique to your needs...
While it is compelling to follow recommendations in magazines, books and other media, what you probably want is a more personalized direction to correct your health concerns. This personalized guideline comes from a physician such as Dr. Greenspan who gets to know you, your history and the inter-relationships of your lifestyle and concerns. A diagnosis of the cause of your concerns and how well your body systems (organs and glands) are working is the key to a successful treatment. What may appear to be unrelated health conditions in your body can actually be understood and treated at their common roots using Dr. Greenspan's approach (Back to Top)
Our health troubles can show up in a variety of ways, even though the inherent wisdom of the body can explain it more simply...
The literature and other health information you read tries to explain how to get well in terms of a disease you may have. However, naming a disease is not the same thing as naming the imbalances that have caused the disease to develop. We call this a "disease" diagnosis. It tells you where the damage is and how abnormal it is. However, it tells you nothing about the cause of the problem. There is a new approach in natural healthcare that recognizes a disease as a gradual development from constant imbalance in how the organs are "functioning". With this approach, we make a "functional" diagnosis- because it tells you what part of your body is not functioning properly and, thus, what area you can correct to overcome the disease or symptoms you are dealing with. In fact, many women experience symptoms that do not fall under the name of a disease. There are attempts made at naming the disease but the problem (symptoms) just continues to persist because the cause has not been found. That's where it gets confusing; if I don't have a disease but I don't feel right, where do I go and what should I do? (Back to Top)
Your symptoms are the language that your body speaks to tell you what is wrong...
Since your body can't actually "speak" to you, it conveys information as symptoms- pain, discomfort, fatigue, etc. Your symptoms are actually signals that are sent from your organs, glands, immune system and nervous system. They appear as sensations in your body and they are usually uncomfortable in some way. (Back to Top)
We understand the language of your body as well as the experience from your life...
One of the most important things to pay attention to is "what your body is telling you." Yet, who has ever been taught how to interpret or even pay attention to what our bodies are saying? Some people are so burdened with symptoms that they can not help but be aware of their imbalances while other people think symptoms should just be ignored or suppressed. Dr. Greenspan listens to what your symptoms are and interprets them as signals from the organs and glands that are out of balance. He uses state of the art testing to verify the dysfunctions in your body. However, most physicians are only thinking of symptoms as a way to diagnose a disease, not to understand what the imbalance is. With our helpful guidance, you will learn how to interpret the meaning of the symptoms you experience. (Back to Top)
The conventional approach to symptoms is to make them go away.as quickly as possible!
And why not, they are uncomfortable! But then again, they are the only way your body can tell you what is happening. What sense does it make to get rid of symptoms if you don't know where they come from? You know the wise old story of honoring the messenger, even if the news is bad. Just the same, don't suppress your symptoms, the messenger of the news from your body. At this point, you might say, "I need relief because I am really uncomfortable!" We do provide treatment to help relieve your symptoms when needed. Although you are uncomfortable, wouldn't it make sense to find the cause of the discomfort and correct that as well? Then the symptom goes away or improves because your body is working better.a more lasting way to solve the problem. (Back to Top)
